Re: The Glen Sound

When we performed on stage Glen always had an issue with too much Bass. It wasn't so much the Bass Guitar but it was the position he had on stage that exacerbated the problem. If you stand front and center on stage between the Sub Woofers you experience a standing low frequency wave develop. I talke...

Re: The Glen Sound

Glen wasn't particular about what amp he used. As Jeff said he was happy with whatever the rental company provided. He used to joke about how he got his sound. He would say "When it comes to messin' with the amp, I'm like a monkey looking at the back of a watch tryin' to tell what time it is&qu...

Re: 12 string electric

From 1986 to 1991 while I was Glens' Guitar Tech and Bass Player the backline was always rented. The two amplifiers on the contract rider were a Fender Twin Reverb or a Roland JC 120. Those were the amps that showed up most often.

Re: Glen Campbell's Teisco “Monkey Grip” T-60

Early on when I was working with Glen he pulled this guitar out and told me it was his session guitar. He had me take it home and get it set up so he could use it on the road. At that time it had a Telecaster Bridge pickup on it and I think the other pickups were the originals. He played it on a few...

Glen Campbell's "Frankenstang" Fender Mustang

I was keeper of the guitars that Glen used on stage from 1987 to 1991 and was his Guitar Tech and Head Tech as well as the Bass Player with the Jeff Dayton Band. I loved Glen. He was a wonderful person to work with and as I told him once, "The best Frontman I ever had in a band". Every now...

Re: Glen Campbell's 1971-1974 Mosrite Mark I

While I was working with Glen we had the opportunity to clear out a storage trailer he had in CA. This guitar was in that trailer and I took it home with me. The guitar was in good shape however it needed some TLC which I gave it. It was missing the spring for the Vibramate Tailpiece (which you can ...
