Re: 1977 Fender Telecaster

Dee, they weigh the same today and if I were betting...the strat weighs more than the tele. And surely, Glens teisco weighted more than either one of those. I know the 6/12 Mosrite weighed 2x as much as any regular electric guitar. I think that is why he loved those Bluebirds...they had to weigh nex...

Re: 1977 Fender Telecaster

Very cool that they have this in the exhibit. Boo had to have an older one than this 70's model. Here is Glen playing a blonde Tele in the 50's. Interestingly, the Telecaster that Glen had in the early 50's would have been cutting edge, as Fender started production in 51. It is pretty clear that Gle...

Re: Glen Campbell's Mosrite Celebrity I

T he only pictures of Glen Campbell's Mosrite Celebrity were in black and white. I happened to see a picture of Glen playing a Mosrite in Billstown, with his uncle, Boo Campbell. A little closer inspection showed it to be the one he had at HemisFair and in the studio. So now we know what color it w...

Glen Campbell Playing Modified Gibson ES 335

I love these conversations. You are very perceptive. Glen wanted a tail jack, it appears...a 90 jack wouldn't cut it. Can you imagine what that cost? It appears to have been done nicely. The "extra" button/switch is actually a matching plug. This is the best I could get, in terms of seeing it. There...

That makes total sense. There is an obvious line of demarcation here...fans collecting picks and collectors investing in collectible picks.

It sounds as if you have a little experience in the latter! Thanks for chiming in.

Re: Guitar Glen is Playing on 80's Glen Campbell show

Looks to me like a Gibson 335. I think I have seen him play a red one also. Sweet guitars...probably tops my list of the best guitar Gibson made.

The article is linked here. It appears that this venue was well received from the pictures and videos I saw.

Guitar Picks

I have no idea how one would validate the authenticity of any "collectors" guitar pick. As soon as one is released, the machines are rolling to dupe through duplication. I would love to know, who was responsible for the "authentic one" during the tour? Some tours have toss out picks...which are not ...
