Re: Rest in peace Kenny Rogers

Rest In Peace Kenny. I remember my mother playing his greatest hits every Sunday when I was young. Great singer with some very good songs.

Re: Dennis Lambert & Larry Weiss Talk About Rhinestone Cowboy

In fact come to think of it, I once read an article about Tanya Tucker in which a reviewer noted that every first album that Tanya made for a new record label was a killer. Re: Dennis Lambert & Larry Weiss Talk About Rhinestone Cowboy

Hi Mike I get what you’re saying. I didn’t mean to suggest that all the albums that came between Basic and MGC weren’t any good. There are some very good albums in there. Old Home Town and It’s Just a Matter of Time are two favorites of mine. Still within the sound of my voice is a strong album as w...

A pretty cool GC tribute radio show from 2017 with some very rare early singles. Thanks MileM!

Re: Dennis Lambert & Larry Weiss Talk About Rhinestone Cowboy

Yes Basic was a great album. In fact to me it was the last in a string of great albums that started with Houston (1974). Only with Meet Glen Campbell and Ghost on the Canvas did Glen reach that level again.

Re: How Glen Campbell Was Almost Dropped From Capitol Records

Very interesting. Al de Lory also speaks in one of the documentaries (Behind the music?) and his story there is kind of the short version of this. Nice find Jay.

Re: Best of Glen Campbell on YouTube

Glen gets a great response in Knoxville, TN with his performance of Galveston and Country Boy (whose mind is on Tennessee).

Re: Dennis Lambert & Larry Weiss Talk About Rhinestone Cowboy

That sounds great Mike. Would love to do that.
Btw, I checked and yep Can You Fool from the Basic album was produced by Lambert and Potter as well! Love that song btw.

Re: Kim Campbells Writes a Book About Glen - "Gentle On My Mind"

Yes forums like this one are all about the musical legacy and detailing every part of it.
I haven’t read Jimmy’s book yet. I guess to sell a book it will have to have their share of juicy not music related stories as well... ;)
