Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

Hi robduloc, My only stories about Seattle are that I have watched Frasier on TV, which as you will know is set in Seattle. I live in Birmingham, England where they still dance to waltzes. LOL As I have mentioned before,Glen was good to the UK fans and came over most years to do a tour. I was lucky ...

Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

Here's my idea for this particular subject. It's a work in progress of course.

I play a piano and I am also a singer
But now I have a wart on my little finger
If I had a penny, it would soon be gone
And I would be happy and I could play on.

Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

Hi robduloc and Dee, Wonderful comments guys. I love that story about Jimmy being reluctant to sign his own album. Such humility. A couple of questions. 1) What did Jimmy mean by the "I don't know Glen, I'm sort of past my Rand & McNally period". 2) How do you get rid of a wart with a penny ? Has Ji...

Re: Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb

Hi robduloc, Nice to see you posting again. I have seen Jimmy twice now and yes he tells the same stories between the songs. I noticed you mention Jimmy saw the guy on the telegraph pole when he was still a child sitting in the back of his parents car. I hadn't heard that story before and it was a r...

Re: Check Out This Link

I just noticed this track by Bobbie Gentry.

I never knew she had recorded this song. I also noticed Lynn Anderson has a version with the name Bobby instead of Susie.

Re: Check Out This Link

I noticed this show was being broadcast on The Ultimate Oldies Show. It is regarding the Wrecking Crew. I haven't heard it all yet but I imagine Glen will be included. https://beta.tunein.com/program/?ProgramId=882587" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Dee, I am glad you enjoyed Glen at ...

Re: Would Glen have supported Pres. Donald Trump?

Hi Cowpoke, I found this on youtube. This guy plays a C Major 7 as a bar chord which has a different feel to the open CM7 I was referring to. I have tried it and it seems to go with the original recording. After playing this chord, Instead of a B flat He then slides back to an A7 chord and then back...

Re: Would Glen have supported Pres. Donald Trump?

Sorry Cowpoke, I had put the chords over the words but when I posted it the chords have been compressed together. C-------- Em-------------- A7----------DM7----------------------Em--------A7-------------DM7-- Though Time and time I tried to tell her so........ She just didn't know ............... I ...

Re: Would Glen have supported Pres. Donald Trump?

Hi Cowpoke, To be honest I sing Phoenix in a different key to the original score, but I think they are the chord progression Jimmy uses, but Glen did say he changed the last chord on the word go (I think it was on the Good times again DVD). Instead of C Glen probably used a CM7 chord. When I sing it...
