Re: 1968 Ovation Glen Campbell 12 String
Thanks Jay, for the wonderful job you do with these guitar threads.
I would like to add this photo of Glen and his 12-string prototype at the Whitehouse with President Nixon on May 7, 1971.

Re: Ovation Prototype X008 Glen Campbell Thunderhead
Well, it's been over three years from the time I first found out about this guitar until now and it is FINALLY where it needs to be. I had put the original pickups back in but as great as they looked, they were too microphonic to use. I had them taken out once again and have them wax potted and now ...

Re: Mosrite Balladere I, Model 401
An eagle-eyed forum member pointed out that Eric is only playing the 12-string Mosrite acoustic throughout the video. Glen is seen holding the sixer at the end of the song.
I subjected myself to this song one more time to see that this indeed, true!

Re: Jerry Reed Turnaround in Southern Nights
Glen was playing that lick effortlessly in songs years before the recording of SN, during the Goodtime Hour run which is probably when he learned it from Jerry.
I'll post an example later.

Cowpoke;
At about 2:29 you can see the longer headstock on the 12'er.

Re: Mosrite Balladere I, Model 401
I thought this this would be an interesting video for this thread: Eric Clapton playing both of Glen's Mosrite acoustics, 6 and 12 string during this silly song from the Sumers Brothers Smothers Show in 1968. Glen introduced Cream to the world!

Re: 1971-1974 Mosrite Mark I
Just to add to my previous post since I can't seem to find the edit function: The Mosrite story was told to me by Rodger Wynfield from whom I got the Bluebird 6 that I still own. He was a guitar tech/part-time band member for Glen. He mentioned it when we were talking about the whereabouts of some o...

Re: 1971-1974 Mosrite Mark I
I was told told that someone in the audience at one of his shows offered him the Mosrite for one of Glen's Bluebird 6 string guitars which, obviously, he accepted.
