'The Wrecking Crew': Film Review
The Hollywood Reporter
March 13, 2015

Another outstanding review!
The Wrecking Crew excels not just as a tribute to Tommy Tedesco, but also as a testament to the enduring bonds of the guitarist's extended family of musicians and their historic collaboration, which remains unequaled in the history of contemporary American music.

'The Wrecking Crew' Celebrates One of the Music Industry's Best Kept Secrets
PopMatters
13 March 2015
If there is a fundamental flaw to this film, it’s that it is so fascinating that all we want is more. We want to hear Campbell talk about going from sessions to touring with the Beach Boys to his own stardom. We’re entranced by Nancy Sinatra’s sense of self. We enjoy Cher’s initial naiveté, the then-16 year old sitting with her boyfriend Sonny as Phil Specter raced around the studio, running charts. One of the most intriguing stories centers on Brian Wilson. Since he could not read music, he would simply start on one side of the room and recite the player’s part to them. Of course, by the time he got back to the beginning, the first musician would have forgotten what he was supposed to do, forcing the boy wonder to do it all over again—flawlessly.

Documentary on ‘The Wrecking Crew’ Puts Spotlight on Rock’s Unsung Hit-Makers
The California Report
March 15, 2015

Explanation as to the rarity of film footage of the Wrecking Crew at work and that the filmmaker was able to track down rare video from an unusual source for this documentary!
He (Denny Tedesco) began what would be years of interviews, hunting down archival photos and searching out extremely rare footage of the group actually in the studio.

“When it came to moving pictures, no one had it,” says Tedesco. “It’s like, if you were working at General Motors, why would you bring a camera to work? Same with these guys. It was work to them.”

He did finally discover a home movie a musician had made of the group, footage the player had edited into a porn film from the 1930s as a joke. Tedesco jumped on it.

'Wrecking Crew' Music Doc Finally Swings Into Theaters: Lessons From Director Denny Tedesco
Forbes
March 13, 2015

Detailed review focusing on the difficult, time-consuming efforts to get the music rights for "The Wrecking Crew". Kudos to Denny Tedesco for never giving up his mission to include the songs he needed to include to make this documentary representative of the music of the Wrecking Crew.

How The Wrecking Crew Pioneered Rock and Roll From Behind The Scenes
Fast Company
By Susan Karlin, March 13, 2015
"These musicians came of age when rock and roll came of age," says composer Jimmy Webb in the film. "They were at the height of their physical talents and in the right place at the right time. There may never be a group of rock and roll musicians of that caliber again. It was this magical bubble that just kind of blossomed for a second. The general public was oblivious to the fact that there was this secret starmaker machinery and they were a very important component of that."
"Every song is special to someone for a different reason," says Denny Tedesco. "That's the reason I think that people got behind it (the doc)." He pauses for a moment. "That’s the surprise. That people got behind it."
Great photos and nice plug for Glen's documentary, too. If you live in or near LA, you can also check out Don Randi's jazz club, The Baked Potato.

Wrecking Crew Film Is a Must-See for Music Fans
Studio Musicians Are Unsung Heroes of the Sounds We All Love

CMT
by Calvin Gilbert, March 12, 2015

Great review that puts the Wrecking Crew into perspective with today's online delivery of music and album art. Also: Glen Campbell as a member of the WC and also having WC members on his own hit recordings.
If you’re a true music fan who has never attended a screening of The Wrecking Crew film, you really need to check it out when it’s released Friday (March 13) on iTunes, on demand and in select theaters.

'Wrecking Crew' honors unsung stars
USA Today
March 11, 2015
The best movie review so far came at a screening a few weeks ago, when a fan approached the director with his son, who had been dragged along. The teenager "looked at me sheepishly and said, 'It's pretty good,' " Tedesco says. "He's 13! ... It says a lot."
