What a beautiful guitar. It looks MINT!
Something about that nutmeg stain really went along with Ovation soundboards...and I am not the only one that has had that observation.
Thank you for sharing those pictures. Killer Ovation with an unbelievable low #.

wolffbark,
Welcome to the forums.
I have no idea. But..
The patriot was a guitar that most owners took pride in having. Your best bet is to join the OVATION FAN CLUB and pose your question there.

There were 1976 of them made...so it might be a tissue in a tornado, but you never know until you ask.

Thank you Cowpoke...

Actually I am not sure when or where they met...I know they were lifelong friends. My father always looked at Glen as the best player he knew, and he knew many. I believe in his prime...Glen would have demolished most so called guitar players of today, and for the most part..probably still can.

Madethescene,
I'm sorry for your loss. Your dad wrote some awesome songs. Glen, as I'm sure you know, did perform part of Wind beneath my Wings once on a 1986 tv show.

Medley starts around the 1:16 mark. Thanks to Randy for this link.

Madethescene, did your dad meet Glen for the first time on Shindig?

Madethescene,
I took a little time today to get aquainted with your father...My goodness! I had no idea who he was. But I certainly recognized his work.
First of all, he was part of the Newbeats...wow!
He toured with the ROLLING STONES? And a personal favorite...Roy Orbison.
Appears to have had a knack for penning some winners ... "Love is in the Air"... tremendous song and in the Nashville Songwriters HOF.

You must be very proud of him. He certainly left his mark on the world of music. Just goes to show you...you can learn something new every day.

Beautiful...just beautiful. #14...that is tremendous.
Thank you for sharing your pictures.
Let me ask Bill, if any records exist for this model.
If you ever put it on the secondary market, would you let me know?
