The U.S. Republican National Committee's GOP Convention is being held in Cleveland this week, and, in the vicinity of all the convention's action, a special screening of "Glen Campbell I'll Be Me" was held tonight at Cleveland's House of Blues.

This convention hosts approximately 2,470 delegates and 2,302 alternate delegates from all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and five territories. The convention also includes approximately 15,000 credentialed media—an international press corps apparently second only in size to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. (Stats trom http://convention.gop/about" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

My point is... :D Glen's documentary continues to be screened more than two years after its premiere at the Nashville Film Festival in April 2014, and more than one year since its debut on CNN in June 2015; Glen's message about Alzheimer's disease should receive lots of exposure tonight!

Check out the House of Blues' custom event poster!

Glen's story continues to inspire other people. In this case, "Mad About Mountains", an indie rock/alt-country band from Belgium just released a complete album inspired by Glen's struggle with Alzheimer's. The title of the album is "Radio Harlaz". It tells the story of a man and wife who are slowly but surely are saying goodbye to each other. A metaphor they use is that man and wife are using radio frequencies to communicate but they are getting weaker and weaker.

The album contains one hidden track, a cover of "Rhinestone Cowboy". Other songs are "I'll Be Me", "Walk with Me", "Stronger", "On a clear day" and more.

Note: Glen is not as well known in mainland Europe as he is in the anglo-saxon world (except for his song Rhinestone Cowboy). However, news about Glen's goodbye tour and the recent airing of "I'll Be Me" on public television in several european countries has brought Glen into the public eye. Not only has this contributed to a heightened awareness of the devastating nature of Alzheimer's disease but it has also brought Glen, the artist and musician back into focus, for both the general public and other fellow artists.

In my eyes, it just cannot be denied that.... doing a goodbye tour and making a documentary about it was a very good decision on so many levels.

Here's a new review from today, 10 May 2016, of "Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me" by "Tina", co-host of 60 Minutes With.
Isn't it fantastic that two years after the documentary's premiere at the Nashville Film Festival it is still being watched, shared, reviewed, and discussed?
Glen would have been so happy to know that that his and his family's intention for the film has been achieved and is perhaps now being exceeded.

Read the review here, and we hope you'll share your thoughts about "I'll Be Me", too: http://60minuteswith.co.uk/film-and-tv/ ... ill-be-me/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
