A thoughtful blog about I'm Not Gonna Miss You by rabbi Brad Hirschfield. Definitely worth a read!

.
POSSIBLY THE BEST, MOST INSIGHTFUL REVIEW YET...of Glen's last song, "I'm Not Gonna Miss You", the under-appreciation of Glen Campbell as a major musical talent, and now Glen's near resurgence of his career with long over-due respect and acceptance that supports the fact that Glen Campbell had has "it" all along. Glen is also given long overdue credit for having "established a pop-country type (of music) that persists".

Saying Goodbye to the First Good Ol’ Boy of American Pop
The New Yorker
By David Cantwell, February 19, 2015
Most of today’s critical trends are breaking Campbell’s way. The notion that what’s in the middle of the road can be inviting and necessary, rather than inherently inferior to what’s edgy and on the edges, is increasingly accepted as common sense. Crossover country acts are nearly as likely to inspire serious critical discussion as eye rolling.
More and more, it is understood that you can’t tell the story of American popular music without Glen Campbell

Cowpoke, That is one cool link and the fact that is on Genius.com is fitting as I consider the song "Geniusly" written if that is a word.

Thanks for that link :D

In annotations of the lyrics on Genius.com, contributors provide insight to the song’s meaning and provide additional perspective on the Country Music Hall of Fame member’s thought process as he dealt with the debilitating disease.

But this review is even better.

It’s a song that, in a perfect world, would set the standard for how this type of song is executed. Calling it brilliant wouldn’t come close to doing this recording justice.
