Ovation's booth at NAMM 2017.
 Check for a clip of the new GC balladeer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZtc99xIjzk (at around 3:50 min.)

After Ovation's many years of history with Glen, couldn't Ovation have spelled Glen's first name correctly on their NAMM booth signage?
(They did get it right on this signature guitar.)

You do understand.
They do not understand the history of Ovation, nor Glen's history with Ovation. But that doesn't stop them from making a Glen Campbell Model that is not the model that he played.

At least they recognized him...because without Glen, they wouldn't have the opportunity to build Ovations

Uhm... Jay, I don't understand. They recreated a guitar that never existed?

Here is the presser from Ovation on the "Glen Campbell Signature Guitar" IMO, the signature is the only thing in common with Glen's 1627. The "iconic 1771" is a complete spoof. At least they mentioned him...

On of the members posted, on the OFC, a comment, that I concur with.

"I would guess these GC guitars might just be old stock of the LTD with a new label on them. Ovation has made several attempts to reissue the 1627, first as a 40th anniversary model in '06, then the LTD version, then the Vintage lyracord version (which are still being sold as FRG's) and now this one. Plus I'm sure there will be a "tribute" model after he passes. Bottom line is that these were great guitars and groundbreaking in their day. Unfortunately that day was 45 years ago."

It looks like the very same neck they used for the Glen Campbell 1627 LTD, which Ovation made to celebrate Ghost.

The body...at least the grab that I got...looks like a parlor shape and it certainly doesn't look like there is a lot of grain in the soundboard.
So if I were to guess...they found some GCLTD necks laying around and conjured up a body.
We may have to wait until they release their '17 models to see if this was a tease or an actual model.
I am hoping someone on the OFC checks this out and reports back.

At NAMM, Ovation is showing off their new guitars for this year. I have asked them to confirm if this is a production guitar or a limitied edition.
