The Ovations certainly were custom, but I'd argue otherwise for the sixties.

Jblack;

Actually, if it is a GC model with the signature truss rod cover you usually can pick this out on the TV.

Most of Glen's personal guitars, especially the earlier ones, seem to have been custom models, and guitar fanatics like myself can usually pick out the subtle differences!

Yes, he's used Gibson, Mosrite (A lot in the sixties), and I believe Taylor as well.

I think he may have used other guitars in recent concerts - I know he's not using a Fender electric anymore.

Re Glen's guitars:
Does Glen use any acoustic guitars other than Ovation? The fact that he primarily uses Ovation speaks alot for the brand.
My dream would be to own one of those (left handed of course) with Glen's autograph written across it in permanent chunky black felt tip marker! :-)

Thanks. Are there any physical characteristics easily seen that identify a GC Ovation (excluding his name on the guitar which, generally, one can not see on television)?

The inlay (actually, for years, a plastic overlay) around the sound is a characteristic of Ovations in general, not just of the GC models.

I have a question: when you see an ovation guitar with the same inlay around the sound hole as the one on the cover of the GC boxset, does that mean it is a Glen Campbell Ovation guitar or are there other Ovations with the same inlay?

Here's a thread for discussion of Glen's guitars/gear.

I noticed a good discussion on Ovations in another thread, but I noticed Glen played Moserites in the sixies very often! I wonder how they did tone wise, because the only Moserite player I know of is Johnny Ramone.
