FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WITH ANSWERS
Q: Why "forums"?
A: A cool thing about forums (http://www.GlenCampbellForums.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) is that posted information and replies can by organized and saved by a particular topic (example: New DVDs/CDs) for readers to view and members to discuss at any time. Everything that gets posted can be easily found and read again and again.
By grouping discussions under topics, posters have time to research and consider their comments before replying. We can also get more in-depth about specific topics than other forms of social media -- and you can create your own topics, too, about Glen subjects that interest you. In fact, we encourage you to post your own topics and questions because this is a fan-based community.
Also, forums are a great time saver for you! For example, if you are only interested in Glen’s memorabilia, then you can read and post only under this Topic.
Q: What is the difference between "reader" and "member"?
A: A reader can view most of the forums here without posting or replying. A member has access to all of the forums, can create new topics, and can reply to other members' posts--this is what makes forums more fun for most people because they can read and talk about the topics that most interest them!
Q: Why join?
A: The forums at http://www.GlenCampbellForums.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; are officially the Internet's only and thus largest Glen Campbell discussion forum on the Internet (excluding groups on for-profit sites such as Twitter, Facebook, etc.).
If you are a fan of Glen Campbell’s or want to learn more about this amazing artist, this community forum offers a centralized repository on the web of All Things Glen as well as opportunities to post and reply to topics that interest you. As a registered member, you can participate in the off-topic discussion forum, the "Hitching Post", by posting with other members. Also, from time to time, we will hold contests and offer giveaways to active members.
Q: How are these forums different from Glen’s Official Facebook page?
A: As described above, http://www.GlenCampbellForums.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; offers organized and archived discussions by topic. Facebook does not offer this feature. Here, we are interactive and can really discuss in-depth most any topic about Glen Campbell—and all of these informative posts and replies will be organized together by topic.
Q. Does it cost me anything to join?
A. There is no cost to join as a poster! We encourage you to click the "Register" icon or button in the upper left hand corner of the home page. Registration is simple and quick!
Q, Who manages this community of forums?
A. The forums are managed and supported by administrative volunteers who are also fans of Glen's. Volunteers include Dee, Cowpoke (Michel) and Jay. In addition to the tech stuff and behind-the-scenes support tasks that we do almost daily, we also enjoy posting and discussing All Things Glen! Member Mike (Joyce) provides assistance as moderator. We all live in different time zones, so forum oversight is pretty much 24/7!
Q: What is an "avatar"?
A: Avatars are the small images you see on the forums, located next to each member's username. This is an image that you get to choose and upload when you are creating your Profile. It can be a picture of you, something that reflects your interests (Glen?!) or something that you just like for whatever reason.
Q: How do I register, post replies, reset my password, what if I make a mistake, etc.?
A. First, you can't make any mistakes! We suggest that you click around on this site, click on different forums and topics, and read some posts. The home page here is like a book's table of contents. Each forum is like a chapter in a book. Take a few minutes to get comfortable with how the forums (or categories) are organized.
