Hi, fans of "Wichita Lineman"!

How many of us love this lyric from Glen and Jimmy Webb's iconic song, "And I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time"?

By popular demand from fans, Jimmy Webb's team has made available t-shirts printed with this very special lyric as well as an image of a telephone pole with lines. Back in 2013, if not earlier, Jimmy was selling just a few of these shirts at concerts and then more and more fans of both Glen and Jimmy's began asking for more and more shirts! So now, shirts are available by mail order and, soon, on Jimmy Webb's website.

If you would like to order a Wichita Lineman t shirt from within the United States, you can send a check or money order made payable to Jimmy Webb Music for $25 ($20 plus $5 shipping) to:

PO Box 1325, Bayville, NY 11709

Enclose a note with your address and what size you want and a phone number or email in case the order filler has any questions. Please address the envelope Jimmy Webb Music/T shirts to the PO box.

At this time, mail order is the only way to order. Online sales will be set up soon via http://www.jimmywebb.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; using paypal AND t-shirts will be available for order by fans who live outside of the United States.

Many thanks to Jimmy Webb's team for extending this merch offer to Glen Campbell Forums.

(Please note that Glen Campbell Forums does not benefit or profit by the sales of these shirts and all customer service to fans is provided by Jimmy Webb Music.)

I don't know any particulars about Glen's situation and don't want to go there in my post here.
The average cost of an Alzheimer's care facility is approximately $100,000 a year.
The cost of pharmaceuticals for Alz's is astronomical.
Then, there are costs for care by specialists, physical therapists, speech therapists, diagnostic and follow-up tests, continuous lab work, consults with dieticians, and on and on.
Health insurance doesn't cover all of the indirect costs.
Someone with Alzheimer's disease can live for 20 years.
Many people with this disease also have other health issues that require treatment and sometimes hospitalizations, too.
(Check out http://www.alznyc.org/nyc/newsletter/su ... VFac5PMI-o" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
AD is a terrible disease for so many different reasons.

"benefit" at the end of a concert or two in behalf of Glen and his family for what I would imagine to be enormous health care bills.
I had no idea Glen's family needed help with medical bills.

you can start a fund raiser at http://www.gofundme.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, we can all donate to it.

This is not aimed at Jimmy Webb or anyone else but at some point it would be nice to see the word "benefit" at the end of a concert or two in behalf of Glen and his family for what I would imagine to be enormous health care bills.

What to do in Oklahoma on May 8, 2015: Hear Jimmy Webb pay tribute to Glen Campbell at the Blue Door

Jimmy Webb says....
"To me, there's always been like a divine plan of some kind in place that brought Glen Campbell and I together, which was definitely one of the most important things that came along in my younger years. It was as though he had been waiting for my songs, and I had been waiting for someone to sing my songs. It was just a partnership that ... it's like Dionne Warwick and her collaboration with Burt Bacharach and Hal David. It was just a partnership that disseminated my music across entire continents."

Shattered is definitely in my top 5 of Glen's Jimmy Webb songs!

Here's another review of Jimmy's UK tour.

Jimmy Webb review – hallowed pop classics and elaborate yarns
4 / 5 stars
There’s a moving moment when Webb talks about Campbell’s struggle with Alzheimer’s – and how, recently, when the fading country star accidentally sang Wichita Lineman twice, the audience shouted, “Again.” After Webb’s own beautiful rendition of the song, a punter shouts, “Again!”

lol...yes, Elvis did alright, Elusive Butterfly. I sure would love to hear those bootlegs of Elvis singing those two Jimmy Webb songs! I think he would have done well with By the Time I Get to Phoenix -- giving it a very soulful sound.

Thank you for posting the link to "Shattered". It is perfection as sung by Glen Campbell.

Jimmy Webb once described a song as a painting, saying, "To me, the song is a painting. It is something you should be able to see in your mind after you have listened to it...." "Shattered" and its strong images of a broken windowpane (heart) is one of those painting songs, too. Glen puts the frame on it, bringing an intimacy to this Jimmy Webb song (and all of the JW songs he recorded, I think you might agree) that is truly magic as you described.

It's ironic that Glen recorded, "I'll Paint You A Song" (a Mac Davis song), the lyrics of which also create beautiful imagery.

This is a great read Dee. I guess each performer has his/her ties, to whether, they can do this or that with their talents. But sometimes it seems odd, that the performer himself, cannot decide if he or she would like to try out new exciting composers. As now Elvis, who probably was tempted and really wanted to sing some of Jimmy webb's material. No way! Not possible, hmm. But I guess Elvis did alright all the same huh. I'm only so happy, that Jimmy Webb and Glen got connected. I'm sure they were both put on this earth to meet with eachother and make miracles. AS J. W. describes it, it's magic when a singer just transforms the music and the words into a magic whole. Glen could always do that. With all his songs. But especially with Jimmy Webb's songs. Here is one that got to me, by the first time I heard it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xswtZqIIjtw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Interviews with Jimmy Webb are coming in fast as he takes his tour to the U.K.!

This interview is classic Jimmy Webb storytelling.

Music interview: Jimmy Webb, the songwriter to stars who turned down Elvis
Yorkshire Post (England) - April 3, 2015
“I believe that every hit record is a small miracle because so many factors have to combine in such a synchronistic way to create a hit record. It’s just a small moment of magic when the right artist connects with
the right song and suddenly it’s on the radio and it’s a part of the public consciousness.”--Jimmy Webb
“I have bootleg recordings of Elvis doing MacArthur Park and By the Time I Get to Phoenix. We talked about recording together, but Colonel Tom Parker insisted on 100 per cent of the publishing. I was being recorded by Mr Sinatra and Tony Bennett and Glen Campbell and I just didn’t feel that I was in a position where I had to make that kind of a sacrifice.

“In retrospect I would have loved to have had a record with him, but I guess I stood on principle and it wouldn’t be the first time or the last time in life that I would cut off my nose to spite my face – I’m extremely good at that,” he laughs.--Jimmy Webb

Nice picture of JW from his photo shoot for his last album released in 2013, "Still Within the Sound of My Voice".
