Thank you for posting the new amazon link, Phyllis!
Nothing was happening with my pre-order from June.
As soon as I used the link you posted and ordered again, I received a shipping date from amazon!
A couple of other online retailers are already out of stock! This surprised me because the broadcast on CNN had been a huge hit, so I thought that retailers would have stocked up on the DVD.
I am glad you received your copy already. :)
Does the DVD have any bonus material listed on the back of the DVD case?

arlw, perhaps Glen's return home was a financial decision? Kim Campbell mentions in the ArkansasOnline article that private health insurance / Medicare for persons who were self-employed only covers the costs of medicine:

"Glen has private health insurance and has Medicare, but when you're dealing with dementia, really all it covers is your medicine. It does not cover any kind of in-home care or memory support communities or anything like that. It's all out-of-pocket. It's very expensive. If you're a veteran or if you qualify for Medicaid, then you can get some help. With everybody else, it's out of pocket because insurance will not cover it." -- KC

Kim has mentioned this year, too, that Glen is physically healthy. He could live for many more years requiring long-term care 24/7 either at home or in a memory care community.

Long-care health insurance is expensive, too. I checked into the cost a couple of years ago; the monthly premium was almost as expensive as my monthly mortgage payment!

Or, maybe Glen wasn't receiving the care he needed at the care facility where he had been staying, so perhaps he is home until there is a better option for him. Some of the better assisted living and care communities in my city have wait lists that are years long!

To all that might be interested,

I think it's great that Glen is home with family members, but to be honest, I think there is more to this interview/story than what is being said. Everyone knows how expensive it is to care for somebody in ANY Facility and to have Glen at home, nobody will be able to do anything so what happens to them and their life? It is true that it always comes down to Family, but I think the $ amount might be the main reason that Glen is not in a Facility ?? If this happens to be true, then I think that is a bad choice they made. I have seen a lot of greedy people and quite the opposite so don't know why they did what they did, and maybe we will never really know?? just my opinion..

Phyllis,
I ordered the I'll Be Me DVD!!! Thank you

Phyllis,
They cancelled my order as well at Amazon. I got that same link to re-order the DVD. Thank you. Regarding Glen @ home-it's good that he is back home, but it's one heck of a job to do. I had many family members with that disease and it is a 24 to 7 job with ZERO breaks!

Here's another new interview with Kim, very interesting. Glen is now back home with his family.

Isn't it a blessing that Glen still has his sense of humor and is still laughing?
And that he feels joy when others laugh with him?

It is so discouraging to read how underfunded Alzheimer's research is in America. Is this issue the same for other countries?

This is a link for information regarding the book that Kim referenced:

Kim Campbell Laugh at Jokes, Dodges Punches
A new interview with Glen's wife Kim. There are many things I haven't read before. This quote suggests that Glen is back home with Kim again:
I don't get much sleep. I have a motion detector on Glen the moment he sits up. I run his errands. I help him to use the bathroom or whatever he's up trying to do. He gets combative if I try to change his clothes and bathe him.

"In fact, he punched me in the eye. I've got a black eye right now. I've been dodging punches for two years. He finally got me," she says with a laugh.

Arlw, I had the same problem with my Amazon order. I checked into it though and found that they aren't shipping the orders placed earlier. They state they don't know if they will get that item. The only thing I can figure out is the fact they have it listed as a DVD with a rating of PG. You need to cancel that order. Then place a new order for this DVD. It is the same DVD but has a rating of NR meaning no rating. I hope it is ok for me to post this link here. This is the link you need to go to and place an order. I just did and I am supposed to receive the DVD in just a few days. http://www.amazon.com/Glen-Campbell-Ill ... SN0JV96J3K" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am anxiously awaiting this "I'll Be Me" DVD--heard from amazon.com last evening--they have a delay in their orders for this DVD. Whoever ordered from them, like me, will most likely receive an email from them. The item will be shipped when they get it in stock. Even though the date was Sept. 1, they must have gotten a short supply?? But, in due time, it will be "The Greatest Gift of All!"
