After 15 yrs. & family move to Wisc., only had 2 yrs. at new school & extremely difficult to make friends & fit in. The music era of '69 -'71 is where I was able to get a stability. The tremendous amount of bubblegum songs of Bobby, Partridge Family, thru Glen, Anne, Carpenter's, The Archies and so many more artists of that same era, gave me that settlement that was needed.

Bobby Sherman and Glen were both popular entertainers, beginning in the late 1960s and throughout their careers, but their paths rarely crossed professionally. While both were successful entertainers, their musical styles and public personas differed. Bobby Sherman's music was often geared strictly towards a younger audience, while Glen appealed to a wider range of listeners. Bobby's exposure on TV was also different than Glen's.

But if you were a fan of Glens in the '60s and '70s, Bobby Sherman had to have caught your eye, whether on TV or the radio. He was studying child psychology at a community college in 1964 when his girlfriend took him to a Hollywood party, which would change his life. He stepped onstage and sang with the band. Afterward, guests Jane Fonda, Natalie Wood, and Sal Mineo asked him who his agent was. They took his number and, a few days later, an agent called him and set him up with "Shindig!" From there, a very successful career began, where he was loved by millions of fans.

Once the limelight disappeared, Bobby worked as a public servant, typically as a reserve police officer with the LAPD and also as a reserve deputy sheriff with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. During his time with those departments, he instructed thousands in the law enforcement world on first aid and CPR. He was named LAPD's Reserve Officer of the Year for 1999 and received the FBI's Exceptional Service Award and the "Twice a Citizen" Award by the Los Angeles County Reserve Foundation.

If he was paid, he always donated his salary. Sherman's pivot to becoming an emergency medical technician in 1988 was born out of a lifelong fascination with medicine. Sherman said that affinity blossomed when he raised his sons with his first wife, Patti Carnel. They would get scrapes and bloody noses, and he became the family's first-aid provider. So he started learning basic first aid and CPR from the Red Cross. "If I see an accident, I feel compelled to stop and give aid even if I'm in my own car," he told the St. Petersburg Times. "I carry equipment with me. And there's no better feeling than the one you get from helping somebody out. I would recommend it to everybody."

Sherman also co-founded the Brigitte and Bobby Sherman Children's Foundation in Ghana, which provides education, health, and welfare programs to children in need.

Rest in Peace, Bobby Sherman. You had a very fulfilling life!
