I did figure that Glory was going to win last night and it is a good song. Hadn't saw the movie yet but probably will. To me this is one thing I am ashamed
for the state of Alabama for segregation, I am really so glad that I was too young to understand the full impact of what was going on at the time. But of
course I had to read and study this later on in school. I believe that we are all created equal whether we are white, black, pink, or poke adoted. Anyway
getting away from the main reason for the forum. I did too enjoy Tim I just knew he would do the song right. Just wish they would have shown pictures
from the documentary behind Tim. Now onto the next awards I believe it is the Academy of Country Music where the video is nominated for video of
year. Correct me someone if I'm wrong.

Interesting review. Some things I hadn't noticed about Tim's performance.

McGraw sang those first lines acapella. Following suit, he appeared all alone on the stage, leaving the orchestra and band the pit.
McGraw honored both Campbell and the song by mimicking the star’s timbre in his reading. Like a good actor, he submerged himself fully in the character.
At the end of the performance, McGraw held the final notes for an uncommonly long time. Then the camera cut to Campbell’s wife, who was in the audience, followed by a shot of actress Julianne Moore, who plays a victim of Alzheimer’s in the Oscar nominated movie “Still Alice.” As the song came to a close, tears filled her eyes.

Hilary,
You can find the song on the soundtrack "I'll Be Me" at your local Wal Mart.

A visual like this one, uploaded to YouTube last night by Style News, might have been appropriate for the Awards show last night. What do you all think?

Okay, I found the answer to my own question about the photos or visuals that were supposed to accompany Tim McGraw's performance.

From the article linked below:
TIM McGRAW: “I’m Not Gonna Miss You”

The suspense here had to do with the staging, and whether the Oscars would augment McGraw’s performance with some kind of visuals to pay homage to Glen Campbell and/or draw attention to the subject of Alzheimer’s. In the end, they just left the performance alone. That wasn’t to everyone’s liking, as some viewers took to social media to express how much powerful they thought it would have been if there’d been a corresponding video backdrop. But we think they made the right call by making it plain and simple. The message? After that introduction, not many viewers were gonna miss it.
This site also displays a video of McGraw's performance.

Outstanding photos, Cowpoke, I especially love the group photo and will treasure it!
I agree with you, of course, about Glen Campbell being one of the best singers ever. It's just so great that the Grammy organization recognized Glen with his 6th Grammy two weeks ago.
Tim McGraw had big boots to fill as they say. I thought his performance was very emotive.
I wonder what happened to the background photos or video alluded to in Tim McGraw's tweet? Maybe these photos weren't visible for television viewers.
And what happened to the "tribute" to Glen Campbell that had been advertised by the Academy? I think they considered McGraw's performance of Glen's song to be the tribute. But all of the other nominees performed their songs, too.

This PR statement released yesterday warmed my heart this morning when I read it:

Alzheimer's Association Salutes Glen Campbell On His Academy Award Nomination For Best Original Song
The Alzheimer's Association thanks and salutes Glen Campbell and Julian Raymond for the song "I'm Not Gonna Miss You," that was among the Academy Award nominees for Best Original Song, during the Oscar ceremony this evening. The Association also celebrates the dedication and devotion of the Campbell family, "Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me" documentary producers James Keach and Trevor Albert, the members of the Wrecking Crew who performed on the recording of "I'm Not Gonna Miss You," and Tim McGraw for his beautiful performance of the song in honor of Glen Campbell during the 87th Academy Awards.
