I am anxiously awaiting my copy of the red vinyl Wichita Lineman! Should have it in about 2 days..... Has anyone framed this 45 or just displayed it like Dee did??? Curious to know what others have done with it! I am running out of wall space, but let me know by posting it. Thanks and much appreciated.

Arlw you hit on a gem!

Here I was thinking it was going to be just another rerelease of the same old songs. But I was wrong, it looks like a terrific compilation of Glen's three album for Atlantic records including two previously unreleased tracks! Thanks for keeping us up to date.

@Robduloc, another addition for your wonderful discography? :)

Blogger Ian Dewhirst in the U.K.:
I was going through the Record Store Day releases again and looking for that elusive gem which would jump out and smack me between the eyes and shake me out of my mental stupor and, then, lo and behold, one release jumped out and did just that. So, a huge welcome to Glen Campbell and the hauntingly beautiful "Wichita Lineman".

NOT a CD! NOT a DVD!
This release is a reissue on VINYL!

The Wichita Lineman is still on the line with an exclusive Record Store Day (April 16, 2016) limited reissue of Glen Campbell’s 1968 single “Wichita Lineman” written by Jimmy Webb! The reissue, released on the UMC label in honor of Glen’s 80th birthday on April 22nd, is on rockin’ red 7” vinyl with original picture sleeve art used for the single’s Spanish release, also in ’68. Search for your local record store(s) here: http://www.recordstoreday.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Note that this single is exclusive to stores in the U.K. (but check online....).

What's with "Love Songs", Ar? With a few listed at crazy high prices, do you think some were released and then the CD was pulled for some reason?

This is an update on the Ballads and Bluegrass compilation album: it was very nicely produced with a cardboard slipcover over a jewel case. The slipcover's photo of Glen playing banjo is also on the front of the jewel case. (See picture posted previously.)

About a page and a half of liner notes (brief bio) are included -- written by Kingsley Abbott. I thought this note may be of interest:

"Thought by some to be simply a studio group, the Gee-Cees did actually play live at The Crossbow Inn at Van Nuys, with Glen playing alongside The Champs' leader, Dave Burgess. Also reputedly involved were writer/performers Jerry Fuller and Rick Nelson - making this a candidate for one of the earliest supergroups...."

The backside of the liner notes has a photo from the "Gentle On My Mind" photo shoot with Glen in a brown cordory jacket and holding his 12-string Mosrite guitar.

The back of the jewel case uses the "Try A Little Kindness" album cover photo (which is odd for this album of early hits).

The two CDs are very cool in appearance -- they were designed to look like mini LPs! I have not played the CDs yet; they are tricky to remove from the disc holders/prongs.

A lot of effort went into this release by Not Now Music. I especially like it because it is -- maybe? -- the only album picturing Glen Campbell with a banjo. Would this be correct, Ar or Robduloc?
