This documentary about the final concert tour of country-music crossover legend Glen Campbell that was undertaken while the singer-songwriter was descending into the haze of Alzheimer’s disease is a courageous piece of work.

Documentarians Find Hope in Subjects’ Final Moments
From James Keach:
“Glen and I became very close just because I was someone who would talk to him directly about having Alzheimer’s,” he says. “It’s like when somebody dies, and instead of pretending it didn’t happen, you say, ‘You must really miss them.’ You talk about it, you let the elephant enter the room. I would start off conversations by saying, ‘So, what did you forget today, Glen? How’s the memory?’ And at first people would be like, ‘What are you doing, man? That’s really uncomfortable.’ But Glen would say, ‘No, I’m fine with this.’
“Because he knew what he was up against. He knew what Alzheimer’s was going to do to him, but he wasn’t afraid of it.”

Thanks for that Malibutimes.com article link, Cowpoke.
This is the first time I have read/heard about how the distribution of "I'll Be Me" is being funded:
“The Mayo Clinic, Volunteers of America, etc., have seen the film and have given us money for distribution without expecting anything in return,” Keach said. “They want to create advocates out of people. Even former President Clinton said, ‘If enough people see this film, it will change the conversation about Alzheimer’s.”
(By "etc.", perhaps James Keach is referring to more or all of the sponsors of the I'll Be Me Foundation.)

Hi, auntie,
I heard back from the I'll Be Me PR folks via Facebook about 15 minutes ago. Following is their reply regarding the Somerville Theater screening:
"The Boston screening has been postponed. We'll post more information when we have it. Sorry for the confusion!"
I'm so sorry, auntie! However, I will keep checking on screening dates for you, and you might want to keep an eye on the

Thanks for all the comments. I'm of that age where my friends and I were much more apt to listen to the Allman Brothers or Little Feat in the 70s and not admit that we used to like Glen, or someone like Johnny Cash, a few years earlier. I haven't really researched this, but my sense is that if you looked at pop music charts in the '50s and early '60s, you'd find pretty good representation from the likes of Jimmy Rodgers and Conway Twitty, but by the time Glen was hitting his stride as a solo artist, country music was not well represented on the pop charts. (I do know, for instance, that in 1967, Glen had the same number of pop top 40 hits as the Electric Prunes.). If he had come along a decade earlier, I suspect he would have been a bigger pop star. And in reference to the clips at the Country Music HOF, the ones I saw were all from television, but I think they came from multiple variety shows, not just the Goodtime Hour.

Hi, auntie, welcome to the Glen Campbell Forums!
I checked the I'll Be Me website as well as the film's Facebook page, and I don't see this film on today's schedule. Could it be a private screening?
Following is Somerville Theater's website address with their phone number. They are not showing any screenings of I'll Be Me, but I would suggest contacting the theater today for more information:

Meanwhile, I will keep searching for any information for you. Are there any other theaters located in Somerville where this film might be showing?
