This is a very rare video recording from 1965 of Frank Sinatra on a studio session.
It gives us a good feel for what it was like for Glen when he had played on a Sinatra session.
(Thank you to Scott Rogers for uploading this video to YouTube.)

A recent blog about Wichita Lineman...

I don't agree with everything (for instance, I think things have changed a bit since 2008, regarding his statement that liking Glen is not considered to be cool). However I agree with what he says about Glen's way of blurring the lines between pop and country. Where others did country songs with a pop sound, "Glen played pop music with a country twang, inverting the crossover formula". The funny thing is, these days country music is more like that: pop or rock music with a country twang. The big difference between most contemporary country music and Glen's music is: Glen had good songs and the talent to perform them, whereas most of the current songs are not good and the performers have even less talent than Glen had in this little finger. But you can't blame Glen for what came after him. And, I am happy to notice that some of the most promising new country artists, like Kacy Musgraves, cite Glen as a direct influence (and it shows!).

Thanks Dee. So 2 dollars a piece, perhaps 50.000 copies, probably earned them 100,000 dollar? Not bad!

Something completely different:

Who is going to bid on Glen Campbell's 1979 Mercedes Outside 450SL Coupe?

What? They originally planned to do Gentle on My Mind and then cancelled it? In that case.... this video [...]! :)

Great video post, Cowpoke! I had to check this one out!
Regarding this CMA 50th anniversary video, "Gentle On My Mind" was seriously considered for one of the songs!
From the music video's producer:
"Originally I wanted to incorporate [Glen Campbell's] 'Gentle On My Mind.' [Kenny Rogers'] 'The Gambler' was another song we had in one of the original mashups. But everybody kept coming back to 'I Will Always Love You,' saying that was sort of the quintessential song. And I kept resisting, saying, 'How in the world am I going to get that song to work with these other songs?'"

Nice prequel from Taste of Country on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HbsaV2B7q8&spfreload=5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am disappointed that John Denver wasn't credited/pictured for "Country Roads" in some way in this video, you know?

Dolly Parton is phenomenal, imo!

"The_Beach", thank you a million for your "Country Soul" Glen Campbell album link! You rock!
How do you feel about this album of demos?

Cowpoke, I estimate that this album and the other Starday one originally sold for around $2.00 USD each.

Great link Cowpoke. And yes I agree, Glen surely would have been a part of that. I thought his version with Jerry Reed on the GTH was fantastic as well.

You have a point there, The_Beach!

I know this has no GC content, but still... worth watching. If Glen hadn't fallen ill he would have been in here I guess.
