Nice article published in advance of a Jimmy Webb concert appearance (see Jimmy Webb's official website for concert dates).

Exciting to read (but no surprise, I guess) that Jimmy will be writing about Glen Campbell (including the infamous GC question to JW, when are you going to get a haircut?) in Jimmy's upcoming book to be published by St. Martin’s Press.

Any suggestions from fans for a title for Jimmy's book? ;)

Mine is Ocean In His Eyes. In this version it becomes an awesome Beatles-like rock song. Glad you like the album so much!

Cowpoke....Wooden Ward's "Once In The Morning" with acoustic guitar.
It's a new Jimmy Webb song for me, and Ward's voice just pulled me into the song and its story lines.
"Doc, I get the feeling I'm becoming a grouch, you know." ;)

I haven't tried yet. But some of those covers are pretty awesome. What's your favorite?

Thanks so much for the link to the Jimmy Webb tribute album, Cowpoke!
Happy for the digital download info, too, due to the limited number of LPs being released.

I had promised a personal review of "Jimmy Webb: The Campbell Years", but have struggled to find the right words that would honor this most special tribute show.
Jimmy Webb provides an excellent "review" of his own as he shares stories about Glen Campbell that he includes in the show with The Oklahoman.

If I can find a better link to this article, I will post it.

Webb talks about Glen Campbell on the Goodbye Tour:
"Doctors would come, look at the show and they would say, 'This is impossible,' " Webb said...."People with stage four Alzheimer's don't walk out onstage, play the guitar and sing 20 songs."
Webb on researching studio session information about Glen:
Webb digested a wealth of knowledge when researching Campbell's prolific recording career. At one point, he busted out a list so star-studded it could outnumber anything filling a telescope on a clear night. ... "This is what we try to bring out (in his tribute show to Glen)," Webb said. "Glen had a tremendous influence on all types of music."
Webb about the devastating effects of Alzheimer's disease on Glen:
"The ravages of this disease are almost more than you take in one visit," Webb said. "You keep looking for the same responses, the touchstones of your relationship. ... And they're gone. Like someone took all the stepping stones out of a creek so you can't get across any more.

Hahaha. That's a very smart one Mike. I don't think anyone can beat when it comes to Glen Campbell related jokes. What about the topic called "Glen Campbell joke of the day"? :)

Here's an interview with and some songs performed by Jimmy Webb from a radioshow called Song Travels with Michael Feinstein.

I can imagine Jimmy walking up to Shannon and saying "When you gonna get a haircut". Funny how things go full circle.
