Glen Campbell Now Managed by TK Kimbrell, As Vault Releases Wait in the Wings
Billboard
May 31, 2016
This change could be music to our ears!
Quote from TK Kimbrell, Glen's new manager:
“There’s a lot of unreleased material through the years, dating all the way back to the early '60s and going up through modern-day [material],” Kimbrell says. “Glen was always recording and discovering new songs and songwriters. So I want to make sure that unexploited, unreleased music gets heard, and use [the new releases] to help young people discover those other great records that he made.”
Stan Schneider will remain Glen's business manager.
I have no available links right now but I'll post and share it later.Good Luck

A newly uploaded song on YouTube may be of importance to Glen's recording history. Or not. The YouTube uploader describes this song as "The Boys unreleased recorded in 1963 with Glen Campbell on lead".
Is Glen Campbell singing lead on "Malibu Sunset"? It sounds like Glen to me (but not the Boys)?
There are varied opinions about this recording on the Internet.
This source states that Glen performs the vocal but not with the Boys, just Brian Wilson. "Recorded: July 1963?" The song was co-written and produced by Brian Wilson: http://www.surfermoon.com/essays/bwprods.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A popular Beach Boys board posted that Malibu Sunset was written by Brian Wilson and Gary Usher -- or Roger Christian. Brian demoed the song for Andy Williams, but the demo somehow got lost. Glen Campbell sings it on a bootleg version: http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php?topic=7238.0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A blog provides another take on the song with a humorous comment by a poster, "TK": "That's DEFINITELY NOT Glen Campbell - he would never sing as badly as that!" See: http://fridaynightboys300.blogspot.com/ ... unset.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Another YouTube channel uploaded this song in 2009 and claims the upload is from an acetate (which supports the recording being a demo): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofGmc6bFuio" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Arlw, Rob, Cowpoke and others...any info about whether the vocal is Glen Campbell's? Any other information that has been confirmed (songwriter credits, "bootleg"?, etc.)?

Interview with Will Carter, a great musician who has been playing with Ashley Campbell the last few years. He released a solo album recently called Half Past Heartbreak.
I wouldn't be able to make that but yes would be great to see them. Thanks Cowpoke!

Thanks to gpinkterton...
Billstown, the band of Campbell family members (Gerald, Glen's brother and his son Steve and two grandsons), will be performing on July 2th in Nashville Arkansas, 14 years after they opened for Glen on the same annual Stand Up For America concert in 2002.
Hi folks
We don't usually post about these matters but we believe this article in Rolling Stone offers a balanced view on the recent Campbell family struggles. Let's hope they will find a way to work things out.
Interesting post, Cowpoke!
How did your country's finalist fare in the Eurovision Song Contest?
Today marks 50 years since the release of The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds". Why should Campbell fans celebrate this anniversary?
Because rockin' Glen Campbell was one of the session musicians on this album! Perhaps arlw and Cowpoke can help to identify the tracks that Glen played guitar on?
This morning, Brian Wilson posted this anniversary message and photo on Twitter:

Here's a blog offering 20 things we may not know about "Pet Sounds". Check out #13!
VOX praises "Pet Sounds" as the true legacy of The Beach Boys (putting aside the surfers, the beach, cars, girls, etc.) and provides a detailed history of the album including insights such as:
Of the many themes and subjects Pet Sounds touches upon and tackles, the album is united by a sadness it never shies away from; at its core, Pet Sounds is about young, failed love.
As posted under another topic on the Glen Campbell Forums, Brian is currently on a 50th anniversary concert tour, performing the complete "Pet Sounds" album live. Check out tour info here: http://www.brianwilson.com/tour/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I agree Randy. This really seems to be a labor of love. They put a lot of effort into, not just an easy cover. Much appreciated.
And now for something else.... You might not have heard of it in the USA but over here, in Europe, it's a very big thing: the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, a yearly event that has been around since 1956. The big final, this year in Stockholm, Sweden, is this saturday and will probably draw around 180 - 190 million viewers. More than 40 european countries are participating. My home country (The Netherlands) is one of the finalists. The artist's name is Douwe Bob, his song is called "Slow Down" and guess what his favorite song of all-time is which he plays before or after every concert he does...
Another hint is this new song from his upcoming album, called Jacob's song.

Enjoyed the Restless Heart, WL cover Cowpoke. Thought they did outstanding job there. Videos are what put it all together for me, not just listening. Liked the way that really the only story line they put in there was the most important, (telephone, power lines) , as the song tells the story, and they chose to really key in on what I thought was great vocals and instrumentation, which keyed in on the keyboard (organ/piano). And the key thing to me, it sounded more like Glen's later versions, which I think evolved the song into even better sound if that's possible. I also noticed how kind they were in the related videos I saw, where they really praised Glen and Jimmy.
