Yes Randy. It all came together. In a recent interview with Ashley Campbell, the interviewer said that Glen always said that "there is purpose in everything, God has a purpose for everything". I think the people surrounding Glen like his wife Kim and Julian Raymond, gave this horrible situation a purpose and I admire them for doing that.

Cowpoke, Great, great , interview!!! I definitely concur that's it's a crime that the film wasn't nominated. And just as I suspected the idea of getting Glen's Wrecking Crew friends there, Julian Raymond is just an incredible man. Same for James Keach and Trevor Albert..

All this somehow magically came together with Glen's family, to create a view of the incredible Glen Campbell, to fight Alzheimer's and show the way to accept your fate through their faith in God.

I'm so glad Julian is working with Ashley, as I would trust his talents and decisions like no one other!!!!

Great interview with the nominees for Best Original Song. Julian Raymond was there and gives some interesting insight in how they recorded "I'm Not Gonna Miss You". But the stories behind the other songs are also fascinating.

6 questions from the Oscars 2015 nominees' lunch
Nominees at the 87th Annual Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon at The Beverly Hilton Hotel
After Pharrell rebelliously altered the back row silhouette with his monster hat last year, two more nominees have gone rogue with the dress code for 2015: Julian Raymond in the trilby and Gregg Alexander in the rakish baseball cap.

Raymond co-wrote Best Original Song nominee I'm Not Gonna Miss You from country music documentary, Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me. Alexander, meanwhile, was the former frontman of the New Radicals who has managed to add an Oscar nomination to his chart success by co-writing Lost Stars for Begin Again.

Can anyone spot Julian Raymond wearing his trilby in this photo?

Just my opinion as a fan...since Glen's immediate family and Julian Raymond are supportive of Tim McGraw, then that's all that matters to me.
If the Academy had made this performance decision on their own, then I would feel very differently.
It's okay if you disagree with me...I am just putting in my two cents.

In addition to today's earlier announcements posted below...

Tim McGraw to Step In for Glen Campbell at the Oscars
Rolling Stone
By Beville Dunkerley | January 29, 2015

Julian Raymond on his nomination:
"It's a cliché thing to say, but I'm just so happy to be nominated, for him and his family," says the songwriter-producer. "I feel just so happy that this whole thing is creating a brand-new legacy for him and getting some of those great old songs heard. As we joke, he's lived a thousand lifetimes. He's amazing in so many ways."

Additional information on the selection of Tim McGraw to perform I'm Not Gonna Miss You at the Academy Awards:
Julian Raymond, who co-wrote the Glen Campbell... I'll Be Me track with Campbell, and the music legend's family members personally requested MCGraw to perform on the icon's behalf, stating, "Glen was always a fan of his music and Tim is sure to bring great emotional depth to the performance."

I'm with you Cowpoke, I would have preferred the first two options, but I guess Tim McGraw is a bigger name at present and if he does it well and with the family's blessing, I suppose we can all take something from it. I hope they show some good images of Glen on the big screen as Tim sings the song. That would be a nice tribute to Glen.
