Here's another beautiful review of I'll Be Me.
The Campbell family, by sharing Glen’s story, have created an intimate, personal dialogue with the world.

Exclusive: Glen Campbell Gets Ready To Return To The Stage In Clip From Oscar Nominated Documentary 'I'll Be Me'
August 31, 2015

(Question to fans who have seen this doc already: isn't this exclusive clip in the film? Or maybe this blog refers to it as exclusive because this is the first time this clip has been posted online?)

  • September 1, 2015 is a monumental date for fans. An important milestone in Glen Campbell's history.
"Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me" on DVD makes its long-awaited premiere on this date.
This is the film that found its genesis with Glen Campbell's good friend and producer, Julian Raymond.
This is the film project that James Keach and Trevor Albert were at first reluctant to take on because, they assumed, a documentary about a man and his family's struggles with Alzheimer's would be a depressing one, a heartbreaking one that would have little audience appeal. Then Keach and Albert met Glen and his family and realized they had an important, uplifting story of love and courage to share with the public.*
This is the film that Keach and Albert began shooting in mid-2011 with the intention of filming for about 5 weeks but then continued shooting through the extended two-and-a-half year duration of the Glen Campbell Goodbye Tour.
This is a film that is already making a difference in opening up discussions and identifying some of the critical issues regarding Alzheimer's disease, funding for finding a cure, and the needs of caretakers.
This is a film that will be available for long-time fans to appreciate, new fans, the general public around the world, and, in the future, a new generation to appreciate not only the artistry of Glen Campbell but also his and his family's journey on a road they didn't choose to travel but never-the-less traveled with grace and love.
This is the film that seems to have reacquainted and reawakened people to one of our greatest living artists. Glen Campbell's courage in managing his disease seems to be the new standard by which other people from all walks of life try to measure up to when managing Alzheimer's disease.
Finally, this is the film that showcases Glen Campbell's last song, "I'm Not Gonna Miss You", performed with some of his former Wrecking Crew buddies and won him a Grammy Award at the age of 78, an award presented at what might be the pinnacle of his working career but certainly not the end of a legendary career that began when Glen was four years old, over 75 years ago, and will not end, we trust, until The Twelfth of Never and "that's a long, long time".

I agree Randy, Glen's song was better than the rest and should have won the Oscar. How about this new review of I'll Be Me? I think it's very good.
