Mike, Some rare LP's! From what I have! The list appears to be endless!!! Enjoy! You will be amazed at these albums with Glen on them as I WAS!!
Connie Stevens-“The Hank Williams Song Book”-Warner Brothers #1460-Monophonic High Fidelity. This Mono LP is a 1962 Release that came out either in June or July of 1962. W-1460. This Mono release Record of Connie Stevens has some guitar breaks on several of the tracks that she does, and they appear to be Glen Campbell. No musician credits are on this LP or on the liner notes, but this was Glen Campbell’s studio session days. The style and the manner that the guitar is played sounds just like Glen Campbell! This vinyl is a First Edition Release which makes it a special attribute. Connie Stevens sings the greatest songs of country music’s greatest composer-“The Hank Williams Song Book” The record label is gray in color with black and some white writing and the LP is in excellent condition, considering it’s 51 years old!. The jacket is also almost mint condition. (8685)/-(8686).On the label/jacket they mention “Vitaphonic High Fidelity.” Glen Campbell sang most of these songs on his own in the 50’s through 2013! Glen even released his own Hank Williams Tribute as well. Most of these tracks are written by Hank Williams. This LP comes with the original inner sleeve with pictures of other artists on them. The jacket has a great picture of Connie Stevens, but for a 51 year old record in Mono, this has the sound of Glen Campbell written all over it as far as session work goes. Great and rare find.
TV’s Original Cast-BONANZA –Ponderosa Party Time – 1962 release on RCA Records. LPM-2583. This falls into the category of Lorne Greene. This is an original release and Glen Campbell plays studio guitar on this LP. “Miss Cindy” is on this LP as one of the tracks and Glen is on that one too. That “Miss Cindy” is tied to June 26, 1962 with Dan Blocker, Glen Campbell, Allen Reuss, Billy Strange, Lawrence Wooten, Earl Palmer, and Bobby Bruce on the fiddle plus vocal/chorus. The Producer of this LP is Darol Rice. This LP is 52 years ago and Glen was 25 when he performed on this LP for session work. This was also tied into “The Wrecking Crew” people. The jacket is near MINT condition and the record is in very good condition considering its age. This 1962 Bonanza is very hard to come by and this one is in great shape. Studio session days for Glen Campbell. 1962, Radio Corporation of America/Printed in the U.S.A. The entire cast of Bonanza is on this LP ALONG WITH Glen Campbell on guitar!
Lorne Greene-“THE MAN” – RCA Victor DYNAGROOVE Recording-LPM-3302. This RCA LP was released in 1965. It is the original RCA recording and this one is in MONO with Glen Campbell on guitar. Glen Campbell, Alton Hendrickson, Carol Kaye on Bass, Allan Reuss, Billy Strange, Morty Corb, Earl Palmer, Donald Robertson plus vocals/chorus. The Producer of this LP is Joe Reisman. He also arranged this LP and conducted it as well. The song “The Man” was also released as a 45 back in the year 1964/1965 on the same RCA label and backed with “Pop Goes the Hammer.” This LP contains both of those tracks so no need to buy the 45. Also, “Nine Pound Hammer” is on here and Glen did that on Shindig, same year that this record was released. 1965, Radio Corporation of America/Printed in the U.S.A. Glen was about 27 when this LP was released. The write up on the back was done by Henry Mancini. This is “A Steel-drivin’, Mountain-movin’ Album” The jacket looks brand new! The record is near mint condition for being 49 years old! “The Wrecking Crew” was on thousands of recordings and most of them will probably never be found. I was fortunate to locate these 2 LP’s with Glen Campbell on them. The paperwork I have backs up these records with Glen and will be stored with the LP. Great find
