Cowpoke, I love the the new video for Gentle, I must say I wanted to put on my ruck sack and go to Wales and climb up Tryfan mountain again. It was nice that they do acknowledge Glen in the second post. I suppose with the film getting a long release, the video would probably help sales for the Band Perry as people look them up after seeing the film as well.

Thanks for posting the "These Days" link earlier today, Cowpoke.

How about that blogger's comment about Jimmy Webb:
And Jimmy Webb was just 19 years old when he wrote the brilliant romantic musical short story, “By The Time I Get To Phoenix” around 1965.
Listen to that song again – and picture a teenager building that heartbreaking classic, verse by verse.
I had never thought about how young Jimmy Webb was when he wrote "Phoenix". Amazing.

I guess Jimmy Webb is another old soul.

This a very good blog (thanks Dee!)

It's about "These Days", a song written by Jackson Browne when he was 16 years old and which takes on a new meaning everytime it is recorded.

Band Perry released a music video for Gentle on My Mind. Which is a surprise to me, because the single has already charted on the Hot Country Singles chart. Maybe they are hoping for a return to the charts now that the recording has been nominated for a Grammy?

Elvis is always a good choice Dee. My favorite version is the one by Hall & Oates. I'm a fan of theirs too.

Here's a funny story:

Back when Glen was gentle on our minds

Hey, Cowpoke,
In response to your post below about the 50th anniversary of the release of "You've lost that loving feeling" and your question about our favorite version...for me, Elvis wins hands down! He puts <<soul>> into this version even though its live Vegas-y recording is a bit over-produced.

Jackie DeShannon talks about what it was like working with the Wrecking Crew including Glen Campbell.
"I was very spoiled," DeShannon says. "I had the Wrecking Crew. I had all these great musicians to work with and I just basically took it for granted. They were amazing and I got to work with them for most of my early career as a recording artist.

Fifty years ago, "You've lost that loving feeling" was released.

Music Times celebrates this occasion with 5 cover versions, one of which is Glen's 1999 version.

For once, Glen's version is not my favorite. What do you think?
