Tim McGraw and his wife, Faith Hill, were just interviewed on the red carpet at Dolby Theatre.
McGraw was asked by an interviewer: (paraphrased by me)
What is it about Glen Campbell that makes him such a legend?
McGraw replied: it's his talent, he's a great instrumentalist, a great guitar player, it's the quality of songs he has sung (and McGraw named many of Glen's hits, mostly Jimmy Webb songs), and his iconic songs and records.
He said, too, that "it is a special honor for me" to be here tonight.

As Randy posted yesterday, Tim McGraw has been rehearsing his performance of "I'm Not Gonna Miss You", and McGraw's recent tweet / pic on Twitter gives us a few tantalizing hints of what we can expect tonight:

"I'm Not Gonna Miss You" will be the third nominated Best Original Song performed during the Academy Awards tonight.
Ghost lighting will be used onstage.
It appears that film clips will be shown onstage as well.
Also, this is sweet: the Academy's live orchestra will be playing in the Capitol Records Tower, and their music will be "piped over" to the Dolby Theatre where the Academy Awards program / broadcast will take place. (Glen had signed with Capitol Records in 1962!)

I can't help but think about Glen leaving Billstown, Arkansas as a young man...off to find his destiny, his life purpose.
What he has accomplished is nothing short of a miracle.
