Rock and Roll Hall of Fame turns 20; a look back in pictures, 2006-2010 (photos)
August 28, 2015

Look whose photographs are first and second in this HoF gallery of photos at:

For a behind-the-scenes look at HoF, check out this gallery (don't ask me about the hotdog! -- lol! There is "art" and then there is art.)

Have any members here visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio?

Glen Campbell's song, "Rhinestone Cowboy", inspired artist, Loy Allen Bowlin, who lived and worked in McComb, Mississippi:
Bowlin experienced a spiritual awakening of sorts in 1975 after hearing Glen Campbell’s hit song “Rhinestone Cowboy,” which he said inspired his passion to create colorful, glittery art works. Bowlin also favored embellished satin suits that, along with his distinctive artworks, earned him the nickname “The Original Rhinestone Cowboy.”

SHORTY CAMPBELL REMINISCES ABOUT HIS BROTHER GLEN
February 23, 2015

I don't know how I missed this article! It accompanies that great interview some of us watched earlier this year with Glen Campbell's brother, Shorty.

The video is also available on this link.

I just read it. Does seem like the writer isn't really informed about Glen's career and hardly really listened to Record Collector's Dream. To me, that is just a great fun track, nothing to do with sarcasm!

That should be a great show Cowpoke. I wish I could attend it.
Did you notice the earlier article below about the rare B side of Country Boy "Record collectors dream"
http://www.elmoremagazine.com/2015/03/m ... one-cowboy" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I am not sure why he calls Rhinestone Cowboy Glen's breakthrough album. Had he not heard of all his other great hits ?
He also says that Glen sings the song with sarcasm. I have never thought that was the case, I just thought it was a tribute to the single. My son used to love to hear this song in the car when I had it on a tape, ( He was about 5 at the time)
I still love the track.

Yep that's Carl Jackson, and although he may have like me a biased opinion, it is spot on ,,, on this video Cowpoke posted earlier....and the you tube button wouldn't work for me trying to post the spot in the video where at the 16:44 mark Carl says Glen is the best in the World.
