Glen Campbell’s life and music gets its proper due in Jimmy Webb’s show
Peter Blackstock - American-Statesman Staff

Here's another good article, this one by Peter Blackstock, that provides insights to Jimmy Webb and Glen Campbell's collaborations.

About Glen's "Reunion" album with 8 Jimmy Webb songs, Blackstock writes:
To this day, it’s a mystery why “Reunion” didn’t kick off another round of Webb/Campbell radio smashes. “It’s a Sin” reached the country Top 20, but four decades later, it stands as the finest album Campbell ever made. Gems such as “Wishing Now,” “Adoration” and “You Might As Well Smile” are potential lifetime-favorite songs just waiting to be discovered by those who love “Wichita Lineman” but have never heard these tunes.
Jimmy feels that this album "largely ... slipped under the radar. I happen to think it’s the best stuff we ever did.”

About Glen's valiant battle with Alzheimer's disease:
“But for this disease, he probably would be playing a concert somewhere today,” Webb said of Campbell. “Even when assaulted in such an outrageous way by this devious and vicious disease, he was still walking out onstage and playing his show. He was doing an excellent job performing with stage-4 Alzheimer’s, which had a lot of medical people scratching their noggins saying, ‘How is this possible?’

“The reason it was possible was because the musical part of him, the core of him that formed when he was a child, was so strong and indestructible that it was the very last thing to fade.”

Two videos from Jimmy Webb's outstanding tribute show to Glen Campbell.
Both, I feel, capture Jimmy's mastery of the piano that seems to be overlooked in many reviews of his concerts.

He sure does touch on the Phoenix topic and with clear details about Johnny River's role.
((Hello)), this comment by Jimmy surprised me:
I think I still have songs to contribute to people like Adele if she didn’t write all her own material. Or Taylor Swift. I’d like to help write some of her songs.
Jimmy hasn't talked much about writing songs, lately, has he?
Would love to hear Adele sing Webb. New or existing songs..."Shattered".

The songwriter behind the songs: Jimmy Webb performs his Glen Campbell songs

Wow, this is one great interview with Jimmy Webb!

On Glen Campbell Forums, members have had discussions about whether or not Jimmy appreciated the faster tempo Glen used for "Galveston". Perhaps Jimmy's thoughts about this topic are addressed here in one of his interview responses:
“I was happy with every single record Glen made. It was a special chemistry; he was a remarkable arranger and brought treasure to the table. He never showed up in the studio without having thought the material through and having played it hundreds of times.

“He started out as a professional studio musician and that was the center of everything he did. Other artists have disappointed me from time to time.”
Jimmy also responds to other questions including:

How many of your songs did Glen Campbell record?
Do you know what (Glen's) favorite song of yours is that he recorded? Would that one be your favorite as well?
Did (Glen) ever pass on one of your songs and then later regret it?
What have been the highlights of your musical career so far? Also, anything that you would have done differently, if you could go back?

Also--check out the beautiful photos taken by professional photographer Sandra "Sandie" Gillard who is also a long-time fan of Glen's.

I checked Pat Boone's official website for a forum, but there was no forum / no link.
Otherwise, you could post your questions to his fan base, Cowpoke.
Pat Boone is on FB.

I agree...sounds like Glen made the demo: got / created the demo he wanted.

Do you think Glen's demo was used to later create the released version? Or, was the final version cut in a studio, maybe with the orchestra / session musicians? Do you have a copy of the AFM contract?
